Despite efforts from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and National Archives, they were unable to locate the information she desired. Honorable Page Belcher, a Member of Congress, offered continued assistance but ultimately could not provide the information Mrs. Brett was seeking. The National Archives and Records Service also conducted a search but did not find any mention of the individuals Mrs. Brett was looking for in their records. The Bureau of Indian Affairs forwarded Mrs. Brett's letter to the National Archives for further investigation. Belcher forwarded her request to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Muskogee, but they were unable to locate any information on her mother. The Bureau suggested contacting the Muskogee Area office for more information. The Bureau also mentioned that the Cherokee Nation's claims were being prosecuted before the Indian Claims Commission, and there was no authority to add names to the Cherokee Roll.
