- Description:
- The document is a resolution adopted by the Executive Committee of the Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes regarding the administration of the Johnson O'Malley program for Indian students in public schools. The resolution recommends that the program continue to be administered by the Indian Education Division of the Oklahoma State Department of Education, but also suggests that if the Bureau of Indian Affairs insists on contracting with an Indian organization or tribe, the Five Civilized Tribes should be awarded a single contract for the program in schools under the jurisdiction of the Muskogee Area Office. The resolution was adopted unanimously in a special-called session in Tulsa on February 9, 1972.
