The FAA is conducting tests in Oklahoma City to determine the intensity of sonic booms and whether American supersonic transport planes can meet noise regulations. City leaders in Oklahoma City have been informed that the intensity of the booms is influenced by the altitude and weight of the plane. Pucinski has introduced a bill in congress to limit the intensity of sonic booms to 11/2 pounds per square foot.
