She expressed her financial struggles and the burden of tuition, books, fees, transportation, and other expenses. Senator Bartlett contacted the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in Muskogee, Oklahoma on her behalf. The BIA agreed to cover her tuition costs, books, and fees as a part-time student studying in a critical profession (Health Professions).
