![["The Five Civilized Tribes Foundation in Muskogee submitted a grant application for the Adult Education Program under Public Law 92-318 (Indian program) to the Office of Education. They were informed that a decision on funding will be made by June 1, and not all applicants will be funded due to lack of funds. The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Office of Education have been in communication regarding the proposal and are keeping the Foundation updated on the status of their application. Belcher forwarded her request to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Muskogee, but they were unable to locate any information on her mother. The Bureau suggested contacting the Muskogee Area office for more information. The Bureau also mentioned that the Cherokee Nation's claims were being prosecuted before the Indian Claims Commission, and there was no authority to add names to the Cherokee Roll. ![["Jack L. Rorschach, an attorney, wrote to Senator Monroney on behalf of Violet Mae Wesho Foreman, a Menominee Indian whose Treasury Bonds were stolen while she lived in Chicago. The Bureau of Indian Affairs provided instructions for replacement of the bonds, suggesting that if they were Treasury Bonds, the loss should be reported to the Treasury Department in Chicago, and if they were issued by Menominee Enterprises, Inc., the matter should be taken up with that organization. Senator Monroney's office acknowledged the letter and promised to provide information on the replacement procedure.
