Harris seeking assistance in obtaining funds for a college education. Senator Harris contacted the Bureau of Indian Affairs on Tallbear's behalf, and they suggested he speak with the Bureau Scholarships Officer in Albuquerque for assistance. The high school campus will be separate from the existing elementary school, and the community is requesting a $3 million appropriation from the federal government for the complete high school plant. The school facilities will be designed to accommodate 200 learners and will incorporate features that respect Navajo culture.
