Carmack that Caddo County's application for eligibility under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 is based on language inserted by Senator Harris that allows counties with federal or state Indian reservations or restricted Indian lands to qualify. The application will be presented to the new Commissioner and then hand-carried to Washington. Wallace hopes Dr. Carmack will help push it through as Caddo County's industrialization efforts will suffer a setback without approval. They are seeking counsel from Indian leadership on how to best serve the total life of Indians. The meetings will include representatives from 124 Methodist Indian churches and the National Division of the Board of Missions. The purpose of the consultations is to discuss how the Methodist Church can better serve the Indian community. They are inviting representatives from the organization Oklahomans for Indian Opportunity to attend the meetings.
