Hallam's claims for a tax refund in excess of $100,000 have been approved by the U.S. Treasury Department and are now in the process of being reviewed by the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation. There is concern about the delay in payment and Mrs. Hallam's attorney has advised against political inquiry to avoid jeopardizing the matter.
