<dcterms:description>The letter from Carl Albert, M.C. to Mr. D. J. Wesley provides an update on the payment to Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal and asphalt lands to the government. The payments are expected to begin in July, with each member receiving around $350. Albert expresses frustration with the delay in payments but assures Wesley that they are now moving forward. Wesley is asked to inform his neighbors about the upcoming payments and to reach out if further assistance is needed.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>The Bureau of Indian Affairs has made progress in distributing funds from the sale of tribal coal and asphalt lands to the Choctaw and Chickasaw nations. 10,450 living enrollees have been paid, with efforts being made to pay the remaining living enrollees before processing claims of heirs for inherited shares. Approximately 23,000 forms for application and proof of heirship have been mailed out, with plans to provide assistance to those who need help with their claims. The Bureau believes that the work is progressing well and payments to heirs will be made as quickly as possible.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>Senator Elmer Thomas is being urged by the Choctaw Nation to support their request for an official nominating convention to select their next chief. They argue that they have the right to have a say in this decision, as they have fought and sacrificed for democracy. The Choctaw Nation also highlights their voting power in elections and the support they have from business leaders. They ask Senator Thomas to support their request and question if he truly is their friend.</dcterms:description>
