<dcterms:description>The Executive Committee of the Cherokee Nation has authorized and directed the Principal Chief to negotiate with the Department of the Interior to re-acquire title and possession of certain lands in Oklahoma. The lands were originally owned by the Cherokee Nation but were later conveyed to the United States for the education of Indian children. The Cherokee Nation believes that the lands are surplus and in excess of the needs for the Indian school, and they are seeking to re-acquire them for the benefit of their members. They plan to submit the results of the negotiations to Congress for approval. The resolution has been forwarded to Senator A. S. Mike Monroney and other members of Congress for their information and action.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is seeking to regain possession of certain lands at Chalaco Indian School, which they had previously sold to the United States for educational purposes. They are willing to pay $3.75 per acre for the land and want it to be set aside in trust for them. The land is currently being used for farming and grazing purposes, and the Cherokee Nation wants to lease it to Cherokee-blooded farmers. Senators Monroney and Edmondson are requesting expedited committee action on the bill.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>The Cherokee Nation is requesting Senator Monroney's assistance in passing a bill that would allow them to buy back excess school lands at Chalaco from the government. They are moving quickly to select qualified Cherokees to take over the land, with leases expiring soon. The Cherokee Nation believes this bill would be a significant and positive act by the Federal Government in their dealings with the Cherokee people. They are urging Senator Monroney to support and help pass the bill during the current session of Congress.</dcterms:description>
