<dcterms:description>The document to the editor expresses frustration with the way tribal affairs are being conducted for the Creek Tribe, with decisions being made by leaders not representative of the Creek Indians themselves. The writer criticizes the lack of tribal council approval for proposals, the limited authority of the Advisory Committee, and the neglect of poverty areas within the Creek Nation. The document also questions the allocation of funds, specifically mentioning a discrepancy in a recent payment to Creek Indians in Alabama. The writer calls for transparency in tribal affairs and vows to continue advocating for the rights and well-being of the Creek people.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>The statement of the Committee on Minority Group Children was presented to the Senate Subcommittee on Government Research on April 23, 1968. The statement on racism and public health was presented by Dr. Price M. Cobbs, psychiatrist at the University of California Medical Center. The statement highlights the destructive effects of racism on the mental health of children, black and white, and argues that racism is a most compelling health hazard. The committee recommends that the government take action to ameliorate the social and economic inequities faced by minority groups in the United States. Senator Fred Harris, chairman of the subcommittee, responded by commending the statement and announcing that he would ask the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders to reconvene.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>The Indian Health Service, a part of the Health Services and Mental Health Administration, aims to improve health services for American Indians and Alaska Natives. They provide comprehensive health care, work with other programs to maximize resources, and have seen improvements in health outcomes since their establishment. Despite progress, there is still a gap between the health of Indigenous populations and the rest of the nation. The Service also emphasizes community involvement and development to address social, economic, and health-related issues.</dcterms:description>
