<dcterms:description>Mrs. Thelma Hudson, president of the Wa-pe-he Home Demonstration Club in Red Rock, Oklahoma, wrote to Senator Harris requesting the restoration of the Home Demonstration Agent for the Pawnee, Otoe, and Ponca community. She received a positive response from Member of Congress Page Belcher, who informed her that the Agent had been restored. Belcher also provided information regarding the Indian Home Economics program and explained the reduction in the Extension program due to funding limitations. The document from the Bureau of Indian Affairs highlighted the importance of housing programs but assured that the need for Extension services to Indian people had not been reduced. The Wa Pe' He Home Demonstration Club members expressed their appreciation for the Extension services and requested the support of Senator Harris and Senator Monroney in restoring the services.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>Kenneth E. Black, a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, wrote a letter to Congressman Page Belcher expressing concern about the transfer of administration of Indian schools and education from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. Black disagreed with the testimony given by Bill Pensoneau, Vice President of the National Indian Youth Council, and felt that only duly elected tribal officials should speak on behalf of the tribes. Belcher acknowledged Black's concerns and forwarded his letter to Senators Edward M. Kennedy and Henry Bellmon for their information.</dcterms:description>

<dcterms:description>Student leaders at Chilocco Indian School, along with law enforcement officials, condemned the Bureau of Indian Affairs' report alleging criminal malpractice by school leaders. They believe the charges are false and may be used as an excuse to lease the school to a private contractor. Students spoke out against the allegations and urged others to write to their representatives to defend the school. The officials who drafted the report claim it is an internal document for investigation purposes. The student leaders formed a Save Our Schools group and called for an end to the slander of Chilocco.</dcterms:description>
