- Description:
- Mr. Paul D. Armstrong wrote a letter expressing concern about Disabled Veterans' Pensions to Honorable James R. Jones, a member of Congress. Jones responded by acknowledging the concern and informing Armstrong that the Veterans Administration proposal to reduce disability compensation has been withdrawn. Legislation has been introduced to stabilize and freeze the VA schedule for rating disabilities to protect veterans' payments. Jones also assured Armstrong that he will closely follow the hearings of the Bill (H.R. 4185) and do all he can to help. Armstrong had questioned why disabled veterans should have their benefits reduced while money is sent to North Vietnam.
