- Description:
- Don Overley of Timpercrest Development, Ltd. opposes President Carter's recent moves to shore up the value of the dollar, including the increase in the Federal Reserve Board discount rate. He is concerned that these measures will harm the housing industry and put many people out of work. Congressman Jones shares this concern and assures Overley that Congress will monitor the situation and try to resolve the inflation problem without causing a recession. Mary Pat Gaffney, the office manager, will bring Overley's concerns to Congressman Jones' attention when he returns.
