- Description:
- Jim Ellison, the general manager of Holiday Inn in Tulsa, Oklahoma, wrote a letter to Congressman Jim Jones requesting support for House Joint Resolution 629 to make the week of May 19, 1985 National Tourism Week. Jones responded, expressing agreement with the resolution but stating his policy of not co-authoring legislative proposals unless he has the time to devote to their passage. He promised to discuss the matter with the authors and see what he could do to help. Jones acknowledged the importance of tourism to the hospitality industry and recognized the need for support for National Tourism Week.
