- Description:
- The letter is a response to Leo E. Merryman's inquiry about the Choctaw and Chickasaw coal and asphalt matter. The settlement for these lands is currently with the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes, A. M. Landman. It is suggested that Merryman contact Landman for information on the disposition of the lands and the approximate time frame. The second part of the letter is Merryman expressing his concerns and asking for information regarding the coal and asphalt lands, a possible payment in July, and access to the Indian Hospital in Phoenix for himself and his family. He mentions his Choctaw heritage and asks for a response soon.
