- Description:
- Fisher Muldrow, a Choctaw Indian, wrote to Senator Elmer Thomas expressing his objections to the proposed sale of timber lands belonging to the Indians in Oklahoma at an undervalued price set in 1912. He also suggested that oil and gas royalties should be reserved for the benefit of the original owners of the land. Senator Thomas responded, assuring Muldrow that he will do what he can to bring about benefits for the Indians and offering his assistance.
