- Jacob Dole inquired about interest claimed for the Iowa Indians, but was informed that no money is available for the payment of such interest. The Assistant Commissioner of Indian Affairs acknowledged receiving Senator Elmer Thomas' letter and informed him that Dole had been advised directly on the matter. Dole had previously asked Senator Thomas about how to pursue the case regarding the interest owed to the Iowa Indians.
