- Description:
- Mrs. Jesse D. Smith wrote to Representative George B. Schwabe inquiring about the "veterans' paradise" he proposed to establish near Pryor, Oklahoma for veterans to homestead. Schwabe's bill, HR 4589, aimed to subdivide a 16,000-acre tract of land for Oklahoma residents who served in the military. He informed Mrs. Smith that her husband would be eligible if he was an Oklahoma resident at the time he entered the service. Mrs. Smith requested information about the land and towns near the proposed site.
