- Description:
- Mr. Lloyd A. Gaines wrote to Representative George B. Schwabe inquiring about a bill introduced in Congress to provide veterans homesteads near Chouteau at the Oklahoma Ordnance Works. Representative Schwabe responded that no action had been taken on the bill yet, but he was receiving encouragement and believed it had a possibility of passing. He explained that after the act is passed, all Oklahoma veterans would be entitled to apply for one of these tracts. Representative Schwabe expressed his determination to fight for the veterans and thanked Mr. Gaines for his letter.
