- Description:
- Mrs. Luther Loucks wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe asking for help in getting a bill passed to release fathers from the service. Schwabe had already introduced a bill in Congress for this purpose, but it was being held up by the military authorities. Loucks urged Schwabe to do everything in his power to get the bill passed, citing the hardships faced by families with fathers serving overseas. She emphasized the importance of getting fathers back home to help raise their children and reduce juvenile delinquency. Loucks asked Schwabe to consider the situation from a father's perspective and act accordingly when the bill comes up for consideration in Congress.
