- Description:
- Mrs. Neuffer sent a telegram to Congressman Schwabe urging him to use his influence to ensure that 18-year-old inductees receive at least one year of training before being put into combat service. Congressman Schwabe acknowledges the telegram and explains that he has been protesting the War Department's actions, but feels limited in his ability to change policy. He expresses empathy for the parents of these young soldiers, as he has four sons in the service himself.
