- In a letter dated July 9, 1946, George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, acknowledges receipt of a letter from R.S. Shade expressing opposition to the resurrection of the O.P.A. Schwabe states that he has consistently opposed the O.P.A. and has voted to abolish it whenever possible. He thanks Shade for their support and promises to continue fighting against the O.P.A. Shade, in a letter dated July 6, 1946, expresses strong support for Schwabe's position and believes that removing controls and allowing the law of supply and demand to work will improve matters.
