- Description:
- Mr. Erle P. Halliburton wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing his agreement with Schwabe's opposition to OPA (Office of Price Administration) and New Deal bureaucracy. Halliburton criticized Paul A. Porter, Administrator of OPA, for his inconsistencies and unreasonable attitudes. Schwabe reaffirmed his opposition to OPA and vowed not to vote to bring it back. Halliburton also questioned the wisdom of bureaucrats in determining fair prices and expressed support for free enterprise.
