- Description:
- The Missouri River States Committee opposes giving unchecked powers to any authority in control of natural resources and does not support the creation of a valley authority. They recommend continued representation before Congressional committees considering S. 555 and endorse the progress made on the Missouri Basin program. They recommend appropriations for construction projects, adjustments to engineering specifications, cooperation with states on land and water use policies, and respecting the rights and interests of states during planning and operation of facilities. They pledge state cooperation in developing land and water resources and support the coordinated plan of the Bureau of Reclamation and the Army Corps of Engineers.
