- Description:
- The Blue Packing Company is requesting approval for a corrected subsidy application for cattle slaughter in January 1946. They argue that there is no time limit for filing corrected returns and that the subsidy program does not actually incentivize production. The Reconstruction Finance Corporation, however, states that claims must be filed within 30 days to be honored. Congressman George Schwabe informs the company that there is little chance of collecting the additional money due to the time limit regulation. Ultimately, the company's request for approval of the corrected invoice is denied.
