- The Northwest Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association sent a telegram to Congressman Schwabe requesting that rationing of beef be discontinued immediately at the close of the war with Japan due to a protein feed shortage and the need for cattle to move to market. The Secretary of Congressman Schwabe's office acknowledged receiving the telegram and stated that the Congressman has never been sympathetic towards the Office of Price Administration and will consider the Association's request.
