- Description:
- Mrs. Livingston wrote to Congressman Schwabe expressing her concerns about the Bureau of Mines not considering her letter. The Bureau of Mines replied to Mrs. Livingston, stating that her theories regarding diamonds and quartz were questionable and not based on established principles of mineralogy. They requested more information from her to further investigate the matter. The Bureau of Mines explained the scientific reasons why her theories were unlikely and suggested reading specific books on the topic. Congressman Schwabe's office facilitated communication between Mrs. Livingston and the Bureau of Mines.
