- Description:
- Mrs. Lila Smith, a non-Indian widow of a fullblood Pawnee man, was informed that she is not eligible for medical care at the Pawnee Indian Hospital as she is not caring for her deceased husband's children. Despite her appeal, she was denied care based on Division of Indian Health eligibility requirements. Senator Mike Monroney was contacted on her behalf to inquire about her entitlement to medical care.
