- Description:
- The Director of the US Public Health Service Indian Hospital in Talihina, Oklahoma received a letter from tuberculosis patients expressing concern about being transferred to a State Hospital. The Director reassured them that the survey being conducted was only a study and not a definitive action. The survey also included recommendations for improving health services for Indians in the area. The Director also mentioned discussing the survey with the Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation and assured that no major changes would be made without involving Indian leaders in the discussion. Additionally, a letter was sent to a Senator regarding the patients' concerns and the Director's actions to address them.
