- Description:
- The Osage Tribal Council is requesting an extension of the Osage Mineral Trust Period in perpetuity in order to plan for the economic and general welfare of the tribe. They believe that complications will arise if the period is not extended, and they have the support of the entire Osage Tribe. They have submitted exhibits showing the value of the mineral resources on the reservation. The Council believes that extending the trust period is in the best interest of the tribe and is urging the Department of the Interior to support their request. They believe that resolving this issue is the first step in addressing other problems related to tribal affairs. The letter is signed by the Principal Chief and other council members.
