- Description:
- Mrs. Juanita Myers wrote a letter to Senator Monroney complaining about the lack of medical services at the Anadarko Indian Clinic due to her marriage to a non-Indian. The Public Health Service explained that if she provided proof of divorce, she would be eligible for services. The letter was forwarded to the Oklahoma Indian Health Area Director for further investigation. Mrs. Myers had previously been denied further treatment for her child at the clinic, and she expressed her frustration with the lack of access to medical care for Indians since the transfer of services to the Public Health Service. She hoped that Senators and Representatives would address the issue.
