- Description:
- Volunteers are afraid to work in Negro ghettos due to fear of going into distressed areas. The National Council of Jewish Women is seeking help in changing their attitudes and prejudices. Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson received a crime prevention kit and advised women not to avoid jury duty. Senator Wayne Morse emphasized obeying the law and not engaging in civil disobedience. The National Federation of Business and Professional Women reported difficulties finding volunteers to work in Negro areas. The Takoma Park Women's Club will hold a meeting and luncheon. Senator Robert Kennedy spoke against civil disobedience in the Senate.
