- The AIO Action Council is a non-profit corporation that has been formed to take direct, effective action within the various segments of federal and state governments to bring about changes in legislation, government regulations and government activities that will protect and promote the rights, interests and welfare of American Indians, Aleuts and Eskimos. The AIO Action Council works independently, as well as in cooperation or coalition with other groups. It will support those issues that further self-determination for Native Americans and vigorously oppose external solutions to the problems facing Native Americans.
