- Description:
- A letter from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to Senator Fred R. Harris regarding Mrs. C. R. Cotter's inquiry about the claims of the Wyandotte Indians. The letter states that the Wyandotte Tribe has six cases pending before the Indian Claims Commission for fair payment for lands ceded under various treaties. The cases are complex as other tribes also ceded lands under the same treaties, and no decision has been made yet defining the areas ceded by the Wyandotte Tribe. The Bureau regrets that they cannot provide a more favorable response and returns Mrs. Cotter's letter.
