- The Treasury Department received a letter from Senator Harris regarding two checks issued to Mabel H. Sargent. One check was authorized by the Social Security Administration, but there was no record of the other check for $1,000. The Department had already paid and destroyed the $850.50 check, and since it was more than six years old, they could not take any further action. They returned the enclosures to Senator Harris.
