- Description:
- Job Corps is a program that assists young people in education, vocational training, and other services. It serves high school dropouts from poor families who are unemployed. The program aims to help them become responsible adults and prepare them for jobs or further education. Job Corps has centers across the country and has enrolled over 700,000 young people since 1965. The program has expanded its capacity and offers advanced training programs. One component, the Advanced Career Training Program, helps Corpsmembers continue their education in colleges and vocational schools. The program has shown positive results, but further refinement may be needed.
