- Description:
- The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is concerned about proposed revisions to Circular A-122 by the Office of Management and Budget that would limit the ability of nonprofit organizations to participate in advocacy and policymaking. They believe the revisions are unnecessary, unworkable, and possibly unconstitutional. The proposed changes would restrict organizations receiving federal assistance from engaging in advocacy activities, potentially leading to organizations having to cease operating. The Association also criticizes Executive Order 12404, which adopts the expanded definition of political advocacy and limits eligibility for the Combined Federal Campaign. They urge members of Congress to voice their concerns to the White House and OMB about these proposed changes.
