- Description:
- The Office of Management and Budget and the Government Printing Office are working together to transfer government printing responsibilities to the private sector in order to save money. Over $30 million in savings has been identified so far, with the total expected to reach $50 million annually. The goal is to close unnecessary government printing facilities and allow agencies to contract work directly to private printers. Displaced federal employees will be offered opportunities for jobs with their agencies or assistance in finding work in private firms. The savings identified will be included in the President's 1985 budget.
