- The House Un-American Activities Committee is compiling a blacklist of over 1,000,000 individuals engaged in subversive activities, including Nazis and Communists. They are also creating a "bible of subversive activities in the United States" with names of 250,000 people and thousands of organizations. The committee is currently investigating Communism in various sectors and received new funds to continue their work. Some Democrats opposed the resolution, while the American Legion urged legislation to remove Communists from government.
