- Description:
- In FY 74, the House passed a bill appropriating $200,000 for the Chilocco Indian School for a Design and Master Site Plan, but the Senate bill had no similar appropriation. The Chilocco School Board and Oklahoma House delegation urged for the money to remain in the bill, but Senator Bellmon did not push for its inclusion as he wants a statewide study of educational and health facilities for Indians first. Bellmon has been opposed to Indian resident schools, but it is unclear if this is true. There is uncertainty about how to advocate for the funding if the one conferee from Oklahoma does not support it.
