- The Board of Directors of the National Tribal Chairmen's Association passed several resolutions regarding the realignment of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the appointment of a new Commissioner of Indian Affairs. They also urged the Secretary of the Interior to communicate directly with elected tribal leaders and to work towards repealing termination policies towards Indian affairs. They recommended several candidates for the position of Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
