- Description:
- The United States Department of the Interior's Indian Arts and Crafts Board has organized an exhibition featuring photographs and poems by Sioux children from the Porcupine Day School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The exhibition showcases the creative achievements of Indian students and the success of a special educational program that combines cultural enrichment, visual arts, and creative writing. The Board hopes that the exhibition will promote Native American arts and crafts and inform the public about the positive developments in Indian education. The exhibition will also tour museums, galleries, and Indian reservations in South Dakota. The Board's Chairman, Vincent Price, has sent a copy of the exhibition catalogue to Honorable Page Belcher of the House of Representatives for his interest and enjoyment.
