- Description:
- Dr. Leon Wall, superintendent of Indian schools, arrived in Oklahoma to investigate conditions at Chilocco Indian School. Reports of mistreatment of students led to a BIA survey, and decisions on the future of the school are pending until all facts are known. Tribal councils are meeting to discuss the situation and protest any plans for private contractor operation of the school.
