- Mrs. Gary S. Thorpe wrote to Member of Congress Page Belcher expressing her concerns about the Chilocco Indian School being contracted to a private operator. Belcher reassured Thorpe that he would do everything he could to keep the school and provided updates on his communication with the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding the matter. Belcher also shared copies of letters he received from the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding the situation at the Chilocco Indian School.
