- Description:
- The Comanche Indian Housing Authority is experiencing issues with 83 units of housing that were constructed with crawl spaces underneath the foundation, causing settling and deterioration. The Housing Authority believes HUD should take financial responsibility for repairs, while local HUD officials claim it is due to inadequate maintenance. Efforts to resolve the issue with HUD have been met with delays, causing frustration for the Housing Authority and tenants living in deteriorating conditions. Assistant Secretary Simons is holding up the recommendations for repairs, and a phone call from DFB to him is suggested to expedite the process.
