- Description:
- The National Congress of American Indians sent a letter to Secretary Carla A. Hills urging her to extend the closing dates of certain positions to allow more American Indians to apply. They are concerned that qualified Indian applicants are being rejected and a non-Indian was selected for a position. They request a review of all Indian applicants and ask for consideration of American Indians for all positions. They also mention that HUD is not following the affirmative action program mandated by Executive Order 11478.
