- Description:
- Progress is being made in Washington on plans for a new Indian Hospital in Claremore, which could be the largest construction project in the town's history. However, local support is needed for the project to succeed. $8 million has been allocated in the federal budget for the hospital, but competition for funding is intense. Plans call for a new 92,000-square foot facility to replace the current worn-out hospital serving 35,000 Indians in Northeastern Oklahoma. Supporters are urged to make their feelings known to Representative Julia Butler Hansen in Washington.
