- Description:
- A letter from Talley-Walker Hospital and Clinic in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Senator Dewey Bartlett's office regarding a patient, Marie Edwards, who was denied payment for inpatient care at the USPHS Indian Hospital. The hospital claims that the attending physician notified the USPHS of the admission within 24 hours, but the USPHS did not approve the admission or advise transferring the patient. The letter requests assistance in resolving the issue. Senator Bartlett's office acknowledges the letter and refers the case to the Director of Indian Health Service for further action. Marie Edwards also wrote a letter to Senator Bartlett seeking help in getting her hospital bill paid.
