- Mr. Curtis Tointigh Sr. wrote a letter to Senator Dewey F. Bartlett expressing his support for the reauthorization of funds for Title IV, Part A of the Indian Education Act. Senator Bartlett responded, acknowledging Mr. Tointigh's concerns and informing him that legislation for reauthorization is not expected to be reported out of Committee before the current session of Congress ends. Senator Bartlett assured Mr. Tointigh that he will keep his views in mind when the legislation reaches the Senate for consideration.
